When asked to create a project for the Toletown online painting community for December, we were requested to make something that would follow a ‘gingerbread’ theme and also be quick and easy for last minute holiday decorating. These little ornaments were what came to mind for me.
While they look colorful and detailed, in reality, much of the designs are ‘freehand’ and created with quick strokes and dots. Add to them their cute button and bows embellishments and you have a great set of ornaments that are truly fast, fuss-free, and most of all – cute!
The lacy edging that I used on the ornaments can be an easy way to dress up many projects. The lace doesn’t have to be ‘perfect’ by any means and can even be done using a white paint marker. But I know you will want to try painting it with a brush, as is ti a great way to practice your brush control and strokes without having to be too fussy. This is a very thorough pattern with 29 pages and lots of photos!
