About a year ago, I collaborated with Mila Marchetti, a fellow decorative painter, and supplied these graceful deer wood pieces to her customers in North America. Mila lives in Italy, and sending custom wood pieces to her clients here on this side of the world was costly and not feasible.
From the moment I saw the deer, I envisioned them with this type of design. I asked Mila if I could use her deer shapes to create my own pattern, and she graciously gave me permission. I couldn’t wait to make the idea that had been ‘living in my head’ become a reality. I have always loved soft shades of blue. I thought the perfect accent for the deer was to add some pretty paper flowers and wispy organza ribbon. A silvery bell completed the look nicely.
