This is the first of my new series of songbird ornaments that I am creating. I want to include birds that I haven’t seen many patterns for in the decorative painting community, and are a little less common but truly beautiful. I decided to begin the series with the bee-eater, as I have always admired it for its beautiful and vibrant colors.
This pattern contains 39 step-by-step color photos and is 19 pages long. It is not because it is complicated, but so I can take you through the process using ‘baby steps’ so that even newer painters can understand and replicate the process. It includes full instructions for both the beautiful bee-eater as well as the pretty crackled frame (using DecoArt’s Weathered Wood medium)
(This pattern uses DecoArt Americana paints and mediums.)
